A&M Vet Student Wins $5,000 in Aggieland Credit UnionTuition Takedown Giveaway

Texas A&M Veterinary Student Mayane Faccin was awarded $5,000 in the fifth annual Aggieland Credit Union Tuition

Takedown Giveaway.

Faccin, an international student and a third-year doctoral student in the Veterinary Pathobiology Department in the Biomedical Sciences Program, is a second-year resident in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology.

This year’s Aggieland Tuition Takedown Giveaway was open to any member of the credit union or its parent, Greater Texas Credit Union, who has an active checking account and is also a full-time student at Texas A&M. Students also received an entry each time they used their Aggieland debit card.

I honestly didn't believe I won when I was first told,” said Faccin. “The money will allow me to buy a new computer to write my dissertation and buy some books and class materials for the fall semester.”

Faccin added that as an international student her membership in Aggieland Credit Union has helped her learn about the American banking system. ““The credit union has always given me the help I need to manage my finances,” Faccin said.

Faccin plans to graduate from Texas A&M in the fall of 2023.

“Our partnership with Texas A&M is thriving,” said Tina Muth, Assistant Vice President at Aggieland Credit Union. “Since its creation, we’ve awarded $25,000 to students through the Tuition Takedown Giveaway.”
