Addition Financial Credit Union to Provide Hands-On Financial Education Through Partnership with Junior Achievement and JA Biztown®

Addition Financial Credit Union announced this week they are expanding their partnership with Junior Achievement (JA) of Central Florida to serve as a banking partner for the popular JA Biztown® program offered to elementary and middle school students across the greater Orlando area.

JA Biztown® is a hands-on educational program that combines in-class learning with a day-long simulation of a real town. Students take on roles within the simulated community, such as running a bank or credit union, managing a restaurant, or even voting for mayor. This immersive experience allows them to connect the dots between their classroom lessons and the real world, gaining valuable insights into everything from financial literacy and career exploration to business management and civic responsibility.

“As a credit union founded by educators, our team at Addition Financial is excited to explore new avenues to provide financial education because everyone learns differently,” said Richard Barbari, Manager of Community Engagement and Partnerships at Addition Financial. “Expanding our partnership with Junior Achievement through the Biztown program allows us to reach even more students at a critical age and help prepare them for a bright future.”

Through this partnership, Addition Financial Credit Union volunteers will play a vital role in guiding students throughout the financial side of the JA Biztown® experience. They share their financial expertise and help students make informed decisions within the simulated economy.
