Capital Credit Union Partners with Fox Cities YMCA To Offer Financial Education Classes

Capital Credit Union is partnering with the YMCA of the Fox Cities to host free financial education classes for community members. Starting in October of 2023, courses will now be offered in both Green Bay and the Fox Valley.

Free employee-led financial education courses have been offered at the Greater Green Bay YMCA since April of 2023, and have seen high engagement from Capital Credit Union members, YMCA members, employees, and community members. The addition of the Fox Cities YMCA partnership will further extend the opportunity for community members to take advantage of these free courses.

Capital Credit Union CEO, Laurie Butz, expresses the importance of offering financial education courses to the community.

“At Capital Credit Union we believe in doing the right thing. Partnering with the Greater Green Bay YMCA and now the Fox Cities YMCA enables us to live out our vision of inspiring financial well-being for all through access, care, and collaboration. We know through statistics that financial and physical fitness are correlated, so this partnership and other collaborations like it allow us to bring financial education out to the communities we serve at no cost and in a setting where they are surrounded by caring individuals whose values align with Capital Credit Union,” says Butz. “Whether financial well-being means dreaming of owning a home, putting your kids through college, or understanding ways to budget and save, we know that through this partnership we can increase access in a caring and collaborative way.”

YMCA of the Fox Cities’ President & CEO, Bret Salscheider, also states his excitement over the partnership and the benefits that it will bring.

"We are thrilled to join forces with Capital Credit Union on this transformative initiative. Committed to enhancing the overall holistic health and well-being of individuals, we recognize there are many factors that go into improving someone’s health and realizing their full potential. This partnership opens doors for our members and the broader community, granting them access to invaluable resources aimed at enhancing their financial well-being."
