Financial Plus Credit Union Recognized as oneof ‘Flint & Genesee’s Top 10 Employers’

Financial Plus Credit Union is proud to announce that it has been named one of "Flint & Genesee's Top 10 Employers” in a new recognition program from the Flint & Genesee Group. Honorees were unveiled in the September/October edition of AND, the Group's bimonthly business magazine.

"We are deeply honored to receive this recognition,” said Nicole Gaby, Vice President of People and Culture at Financial Plus Credit Union. “This acknowledgment is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire Financial Plus team and the outstanding workplace culture we've built together. At Financial Plus, we prioritize creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace where our employees can thrive, innovate, and contribute to our shared success.”

Applications for the program opened in April and were reviewed and scored by an external committee comprised of human resources and leadership consultants.

According to Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Group, while the honorees vary in size, scope, and industry, they share a commitment to creating a positive employee experience through prioritizing employee engagement and voice, creating inclusive and supportive environments, and providing opportunities for advancement. “These employers set the bar for what makes a great place to work in our community,” Herman said.

Financial Plus Credit Union’s submission highlighted their work-life blend and the opportunity to work remotely, over 100 internal promotions since 2020, the formation of employee led groups such as the DEI Council, the creation of a six-month long leadership development course, a Financial Plus specific podcast created by employees, employee testimonials, and the encouragement of internal feedback from monthly one-on-ones and Employee Net Promoter Scores.

To be considered for the Top 10 Employers program, organizations were required to have a minimum of 10 employees working in Genesee County and either be headquartered in Genesee County or have a significant presence in the region.
