Jennifer Kouchis Joins ORNL FCU as Chief Strategy & Growth Officer

ORNL Federal Credit Union (ORNL FCU) recently announced the appointment of Jennifer Lopez Kouchis as Chief Strategy & Growth Officer, effective February 19, 2024. The position is new to the $3.65 billion dollar organization.

Kouchis will lead ORNL FCU’s largest growth-driving areas, including lending, marketing, and data analytics. She will also oversee 7, LLC, ORNL FCU’s credit union service organization (CUSO), which includes 7 Servicing, 7 Title, 7 Mortgage, and 7 Insurance. With combined oversight, this brings all of these operational areas under one unified strategic line.

With over 20 years in the financial industry, Kouchis’ career has included management of CUSOs, lending, technology, sales, secondary marketing, and product delivery. Her cross-functional management and leadership experience will be beneficial in spearheading ORNL FCU’s growth in East Tennessee.

Kouchis comes to ORNL FCU from VyStar Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., where she was Chief Credit Officer & Head of Mortgage Banking. Prior to VyStar, she  worked at BBVA Compass, NVR Mortgage, and Navy Federal Credit Union. Kouchis attended the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and the Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus, Ohio. A Certified Mortgage Banker through the Mortgage Bankers Association, Kouchis currently serves on the TransUnion Mortgage Advisory Board and the National POW/MIA Memorial & Museum Board.

The credit union also recently announced the addition of Wendy Ward as general counsel and chief risk officer.
