Rouge Credit Union And FHLB Des Moines Invest $800K In Community Development Through Grants To Local Nonprofits

Rogue Credit Union will invest $800,000 in local communities through a Member Impact Fund grant which opened to just handful of states this year, including Oregon. In collaboration with the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Des Moines, Rogue will make eight grants to nonprofits who serve Oregon residents and focus on affordable housing in local communities.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with the eight non-profits selected for these grants,” said Matt Stephenson, President/CEO of Rogue Credit Union. “Each one provides essential services that make our community a better place for everyone.”

The following organizations will each receive a $100,000 grant:

  • ACCESS Serving Jackson County, Oregon

  • Coalición Fortaleza Serving Jackson County, Oregon

  • Habitat for Humanity Serving Jackson County, Oregon

  • United Community Action Network Serving Josephine County, Oregon

  • United Community Action Network Serving Douglas County, Oregon

  • Oregon Coast Community Action Serving Curry County, Oregon

  • Klamath-Lake Community Action Services Serving Klamath County, Oregon

  • Community in Action Serving Malheur County, Oregon

“Our partnership with Rogue Credit Union goes beyond financial support" said Carrie Borgen, Executive Director at ACCESS. "It's a shared commitment to strengthening our community. Our organizations' mutual values and goals have been instrumental in our success, and we're proud to make a lasting impact together.”

The Member Impact Fund is part of FHLB Des Moines’ ongoing mission to offer a variety of funding options through its members to support affordable housing and community development needs. It provides $3 for every $1 of an eligible FHLB Des Moines member's grant donation. Kris Williams, President and CEO of FHLB Des Moines, shares, “We are thrilled to see grants from our Member Impact Fund having a direct, positive impact on the communities in which our members help advance affordable housing and community development needs in a meaningful way.”

FHLB Des Moines created the Member Impact Fund in 2023. It will provide nearly $20 million to eligible organizations in order to strengthen communities in targeted areas of FHLB Des Moines’ district. In 2024 FHLB Des Moines increased the Member Impact Fund by $10 million.

Rogue Credit Union is proud to help improve the quality of life for members and community members through our partnership with these Oregon nonprofits and FHLB Des Moines. For more information about our sponsorship and charitable giving initiatives, visit roguecu.org/sponsorships.
