WEOKIE Federal Credit Union Partners with Homeland Grocery: Donating $7,000 Worth of Groceries to Local Shoppers

As Thanksgiving approaches, WEOKIE Federal Credit Union and Homeland Grocery are joining forces to help local families stretch their budgets and brighten the holiday season. Together, they are pleased to announce a partnership that will result in local community members receiving $7,000 worth of groceries for free! This initiative, taking place on November 21st, 2023, at Homeland's Rockwell & 122nd location, aims to empower the community by enabling them to save money on essential groceries, freeing up funds for other holiday expenses.

Recognizing that the holiday season can be financially challenging for many, WEOKIE Federal Credit Union and Homeland Grocery are working together to make life a bit more manageable for local individuals and families. On November 21st, 2023, at 2:00 pm, random shoppers will be given a $100 gift card to purchase an array of groceries, including fresh produce, canned goods, dairy products, and more. WEOKIE and Homeland hope to ease the financial burden of shopping for Thanksgiving dinner and create opportunities for additional holiday spending.

"At WEOKIE Federal Credit Union, we understand that every dollar saved during the holiday season can make a significant difference," said Jeff Carpender, CEO/President at WEOKIE Federal Credit Union. "Our partnership with Homeland allows us to contribute to our community's well-being by helping them save on essential groceries and allocate their resources towards other holiday needs."

Homeland, a trusted and community-driven supermarket chain, is delighted to be part of this effort. Ashlee Trotter, Marketing Lead at Homeland, shared Homeland’s enthusiasm by saying, "Thanksgiving is a time of celebration, and we are thrilled to collaborate with WEOKIE Federal Credit Union to support the community. By providing groceries, we hope to enhance the overall holiday experience for our neighbors."

The event will occur at Homeland's Rockwell & 122nd location on November 21st, 2023, starting at 2:00 pm. Local community members are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to reduce their grocery expenses for the holiday season. WEOKIE Federal Credit Union and Homeland Grocery also invite other local businesses and community organizations to join this initiative and help the community save money during this special time of year
